Who is “AylinToefl” ?

Hey there! :) My name is Aylin Bardavit! A proud mom of two boys, the former teacher of thousands of students, and a fierce Leo with a passion to teach! (oh and a passion to eat dark chocolate but I guess you don’t need to know that :)

I have a BA in English Teaching EFL, and a TESOL certificate. I first started teaching EFL (English as a foreign language) in 1998, to elementary school kids overseas. I served as a Second Grade English Department Coordinator for two years. As challenging as it was, I loved every second of it and I can admit that it was that very experience that made me fall in love with my profession and gave me the motivation I needed to take my career a step further. So I listened to my gut feeling, said my goodbyes to kiddos, and started teaching adults in New York, who needed my help just as much as elementary school kids overseas did.

Since 2000, I have been actively teaching ESL (English as a second language) at multiple language schools in Brooklyn, NY to people who have immigrated to the USA in the hopes of pursuing further education or to improve their quality of life.

I have also been privately tutoring students for the last 17 years at my private office in Brooklyn or via Skype.

I am proud to say that over the course of 27 years, I have helped thousands of students to get where they are today by holding their hands through the adjustment period, by helping them improve their English, by preparing them for the TOEFL test, and by helping them get high scores which is a requirement for many undergraduate and graduate programs and most importantly by giving them their self confidence back in this new country and encourage them to succeed in their future.

Where Private Classes Take Place

I have a private office in the Sheepshead Bay area, in Brooklyn, NY where I tutor students in a peaceful location. The office is fully equipped with a large table, chairs, a large TV, and a photocopy machine. A restroom is also available for use. In addition, the room is equipped with heating and AC.

I tutor students who live overseas, in other states, or locations via Skype from their own workplace or home, at their convenience. I have a white board which creates an authentic classroom environment and fast internet connection which enables successful lessons. I can also occasionally tutor students who come regularly to my office via Skype in case they can not make it to the office that day.
